Some push notifications not working after restore

iPhone 15 Pro Max iOS 17.0.2

Hi,

once again I have an app that no longer wants to send push messages after I switched to a new iPhone. This always happens after moving to a new iPhone.

First it was “Onefootball” about 3 years ago. No matter what you set for notifications. No push is coming through.

Even deleting the app before moving to a new iPhone doesn't help.

Then it hit “idealo” and now “Instagram” too.

I don’t know what I can do.

Every time I re-install the app, iOS is asking if I want to accept push notifications. I agree. But nothing is happening. I do not get any push.

Is it somehow possible to investigate this further? I don’t want to do a fresh setup of iOS. Too much apps and data stored in the apps.

Greetings AgentMax81,

If the issue is only happening with a couple of 3rd party apps, you'll want to complete the following steps:

1.) Make sure your iPhone is on the latest version of the iOS software. The latest version of iOS is 17.0.2. You can check your Version in Settings > General > About. If the iPhone is not up-to-date, make a backup of the device and update the software. Here's a guide to help: Update your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support.

2.) Once you’ve ensured the iOS software version is iOS 17.0.2, open the App Store and check to see if you have any app updates available. If so, complete the app updates. How to manually update apps on your Apple device - Apple Support.

3.) If the issue remains after updating the software, uninstall these 3rd party apps from the device. Delete apps on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch - Apple Support. Next, restart your iPhone; Restart your iPhone - Apple Support. Then, reinstall these apps back onto your iPhone.

4.) If the issue remains, you’ll want to look into reaching out to these app support sites directly, as they are the developers for the app and will be in a better position to continue to assist you. How to contact an app developer - Apple Support.

We hope this information helps you out.

Cheers!
