It will randomly say phone is too hot while just charging often while in my car. I think it’s the USB/adapter and I think it’s the new cable that’s the issue

If a Charging On Hold notification appears
If this message appears on the Lock Screen: "Charging On Hold. Charging will resume when iPhone returns to normal temperature," learn what to do.

Could this over heating issue be a C cable issue? I have the 12 and never had this issue till the C cable. I had to buy adapter to use the regular USB PORT ADAPTER for the c cable and the c cable adapter is also getting too hot.
