Finder cannot "find" Numbers Spreadsheets

Weird issue after latest Ventura update. If I use search in Finder to locate documents of the kind Numbers Spreadsheet the result is a short list of only those files on my iCloud drive and they appear as kind Pages or PDF! If I search for file names containing .numbers I get the entire list from my Mac. Spotlight also finds all the .numbers documents correctly.

I've rebuilt the Spotlight Index for the entire disk, deleted the Finder plist, restarted in Safe Mode. Always the same behaviour and no other file types are affected.

Any thoughts?

I have the same issue, on a MacBook Pro with Sonoma 14.0. When I search in the Finder for "numbers", and choose from the dropdown that opens Kind > Numbers Spreadsheets, nothing is found. When I type "kind: numbers" into the Finder search window, it finds my numbers sheets.

So, the dropdown that appears under the Finder search window and offers to search for "kind" does not yield the correct results.

Thx, and starting from Spotlight does indeed work even when I use the 'search finder' option from the results window. Also, this works for Finder directly....BUT...if I just type 'numbers' into the Finder search and then select Numbers Spreadsheets from the drop down I only get those stored on iCloud. So your solution works, but there is something "off" with Finder still, I think.
