Fitness app step tracking.

I wouldn't doubt that it's just me, but it seems like no matter how I ask on a web search or no matter how I rephrase the question I seem to find lots of information on just about everything else about the Apple fitness app tracking my steps, other than the one question I have. Does anyone know when the app actually starts counting my steps and following my activity amd can it be set to when I want it to start. My thoughts so far are that it just starts tracking as I begin moving when I get up in the morning

I'm on an iPhone 12 Pro running 16.6.1

I know it's predetermined on my Fitbit and haven't found a way to adjust it to begin when I choose it to so I was curious if anybody knew anything more about this pertaining to the Apple fitness app?

thnx.

Hello Razz4Tazz,

Steps are actually under the Health app on the iPhone. You can learn more about this here: Use the Health app on your iPhone or iPad

"Health automatically counts your steps, walking, and running distances. And, if you have an Apple Watch, it automatically tracks your Activity data. You can also enter information into a Health category or get data from any of your favorite apps or devices that are compatible with Health."

When you begin the day, the iPhone will start to track your steps. There isn't a way that you can change when it begins to log this information.

If you wish for this to be different, then we would suggest providing feedback directly to Apple: Product Feedback Apple reviews all feedback provided, but you may not hear back on any given. Apple does not request unsolicited ideas.

Hoping this helps out.

Take care.
