Access Control Center by tapping the side button. See:

Momentarily press and release the flat oval side button. NOT HOLD FOR 5 SECONDS!

Tap once for Control Center.

Quick tap twice for your Apple Wallet.

Press and hold for 5 seconds to get the emergency calling.
