I think IOS 17 is not available on your Iphone X

The problem you are having right now is because your iPhone X is no longer getting updates from apple. Sadly it will be stuck on iOS 16.6.1 from now on :(

The following phones should be able to update to iOS 17 with no problems:

iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max.

Sorry, we can't help you, iPhone X cannot be updated past iOS 16.7. It is now too old to run the newest iOS 17. If you want iOS 17, then you'll need to consider buying a newer iPhone.
