"Other Users" Storage Issue

I have a relatively new Mac, just a few months old. Very little has been saved on it, very few programs (all small) have been installed.

Computer shows 117.77 GB storage in use by 'Other Users'. While I have other users on the machine, none have downloaded anything.

I looked at Users/Shared folder because I saw that some some people on the web reported massive files somehow added there... that doesn't seem to be an issue for me ... just a few folders in that folder with using little storage.

I tried to use disk analysis tools to figure out what the big storage hog is... but the tools seem to skip over the Other Users files and just look at the other storage in use, and that data already makes sense.

How do I find and review what is in this "Other Users" folder?

Thank you!

Has there been a User Account that has was Removed from this computer ?

Delete a user or group on Mac

If you’re an administrator, you can delete users that you no longer want to have access to your Mac. You can also delete groups you don’t want.

  1. On your Mac, choose Apple menu  > System Settings, then click Users & Groups  in the sidebar. (You may need to scroll down.)
  2. Click the Info button  next to the user or group you want to delete, then click Delete Account.
  3. Note: If a user is logged in to this Mac now, you can’t select them.
  4. Do one of the following:
    • Save the home folder as a disk image: Select “Save the home folder in a disk image.” This archives all the user’s documents and information so the user can be restored later if needed. The disk image is saved in /Users/Deleted Users/.
    • Leave the user’s home folder as is: Select “Don’t change the home folder.” The user’s documents and information remain and the user can be restored later if needed. The home folder remains in /Users/.
    • Remove the user’s home folder from the computer: Select “Delete the home folder.” The user information is deleted and the storage space is freed.
  • Delete a sharing-only user or a group: Click OK.
    • A sharing-only user doesn’t have a home folder.
  1. Click Delete Account.

Thanks, this is really helpful. I deleted two user accounts, some savings but then as I was about to delete the third realized there was 80+ GB of ‘System’ storage associated with that user — I need to figure out why that is as the user isn’t creating any content or downloading. Or maybe I’ll just delete the account— it’s for my 11 year old son who occasionally plays games on the computer.

Appreciate the response.
