USB reciever keyboard and mouse lagging

So I've a keyboard and a mouse (wireless) connected to my mac mini

It's connected with a USB 2.0 Male dongle, and both the keyboard and the mouse send and recieve signals through that one dongle.

the mouse lags a lot, the keyboard still works fine most of the time.

I tried using a usb 2.0 male mechaical keyboard (wired)

and it works fine and no issues, I had a wired mouse too but it didn't work with the mac

I tried booting into safe mode and the problem was still there.

I tried using my keyboard and mouse with my Windows PC and also tried it in Linux, and it worked fine.

the battery of the keyboard and the mouse is 100%. I tried SMC reset, safe boot, none of them worked.

I tried using the mouse with bluetooth connection and it still lagged after a random interval but it was there.

what can be the reasons for this?

few things which had happened in the past :

My mac mini was unplugged (in total, it happened for two times) while it was Idling.

Mac mini, macOS 14.0

That sounds like wireless interference from other poorly shielded USB cables and/or devices.

I would try plugging the USB wireless dongle into a short extension cable, instead of directly into the back of the Mac mini.
