Suddenly the time is greyed out on my Lock Screen while the widgets for activity and my watch battery are bright.....the time is more important information....I've tried various things and nothing resolves the issue. Any suggestions? I know how to change my wallpaper but the issue persists. The image shows the greyed out time just above my "I'll eat anything" labrador.

If the font color on your Lock Screen looks light, see if changing the color of it helps. Follow Create a custom iPhone Lock Screen and check out this YouTube video from Apple Support How to personalize Lock Screens on your iPhone.
Note: When you are in the setting to change the font and color, with most color options you have the ability to use a slider to change the intensity of the color.
