Waited until 17.3 before updating wish i hadn't updated as its basically bricked my XR. Apps freeze and then shutdown, phone is incredibily slow to follow any command, phone rings at times but no caller showing and can't answer it. Battery loses 50-60% over night without any use. I have updated all apps cleaned caches etc. Even Apple native apps are affected. Not good Apple!!

Contacts and voicemails are clunky to navigate. Every time I need to look up a phone number while I'm on the phone I think I'm going to hang up on the person. They took away the contacts button. Also, when checking voicemails, you have to back in and out of each voicemail. You can't go down the row anymore -- very time consuming. I've talked to other Apple Users and they're not happy about these features either.

What’s kinds of problems exactly? When you mean by a ton I feel you. I’m assuming you have a phone older than 12 so maybe 11ish. Also, I think the most common problems people say they’ve had were:

  • Battery life draining much faster than normal.
  • A white box appearing when you scroll through photos (tried being specific but this is the one I have)
  • Issues accessing certain apps (most common files, photos, App Store)
  • Phone heating up very fast and very hot
  • And problems trying to delete apps, calling people, and most notoriously………… issues downloading photos

What I would do is make sure that the phones updates are turned off (automatic updates off)

Hoping this helps for you. While this doesn’t resolve the current issue(s) this will prevent further issues.

Have been sharing my Apple TV+ subscription with my wife for long time. We updated to IOS 17 and she has been unable to use the app. I made sure I was still sharing and also deleted reloaded her app and sign in. App comes up but doesn’t recognize her sharing access. Frustrating. This is the only app I share.

I'm over a few schools and the issue we are having since the Apple TV update is that the mac computers can not mirror initially, the teachers get a blank screen. The fix is to change the display setting for Optimizing for the laptop versus AppleTV. Another temporary fix is to click mirror several times until it starts mirroring your computer to the Apple TV. Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be a fix for the iPads and the mirroring issue. One of my schools are using their iPads as a document camera. Hopefully an update will come out shortly to fix the mirroring problem with the mac computers and iPads. If anyone has a work around for the iPads, I'm all ears.

I have just noticed that, if my iPhone 13 (running 17.0.3) is connected to the charger and is charging, several user interactions (swiping, two-finger pinches, etc) become unstable or just don’t work. My wife tried to call me last night, but despite several attempts, I could not answer. Rather than the answer button following my swipe, the entire screen did. Similar issues this morning. Unplugging the lightning connector restores full operation in every instance.

Since updating to IOS 17 my vmails do not transcribe a call back number (left in the vmail) as a phone number. Big problem to call back someone who is calling from a general number and wants a return call to another number. Not efficient. I understand others with IOs17 have the same issue. Those with iOS 16 haven no issue. Looks like an issue with 17. Not sure when next update is out?? Any one know?
