Waited until 17.3 before updating wish i hadn't updated as its basically bricked my XR. Apps freeze and then shutdown, phone is incredibily slow to follow any command, phone rings at times but no caller showing and can't answer it. Battery loses 50-60% over night without any use. I have updated all apps cleaned caches etc. Even Apple native apps are affected. Not good Apple!!

Since my wife and I upgraded to ios 17, she no longer receives my calls. She can call me and I can text her but her phone doesn't register my calls. I call her line, it rings, and I get her voicemail but she can't get it. We tried all the usual steps, e.g., airplane mode on/off etc. but they don't work. Does anyone else have this issue? What can we do? I have to revert to FaceTime call.

I too have had many problems since updating to iOS 17. Really regret doing it.

Maybe there are more problems with certain iPhone models. Many iPhone users are reporting that they are having iOS 17 problems, but there is no sign that anyone at Apple is paying attention -- or trying to fix them. Apple, do something!

I have an iPhone XR and the worst problems--but not the only ones--for me are with texting. Editing is a nightmare. The cursor sometimes cannot be moved to edit or correct mistakes. Random text

messages disappear when I have not deleted them...etc., etc.

Not worth the update. You lose the most of the convenience. I got it with interest in the security upgrades to be greeted with the lost of features like “send current location” via iMessage. Now yours required to share your location for an hour minimum. This has me scrambling to google maps just to send a coworker my location since I’m uncomfortable with sharing my location for that long and Im not sticking around the same place for long

They removed the mute button from the video player. This feature allowed you to toggle through videos while listening to audio from different apps. Iphones dont have much when it comes to multitasking features so this felt like a huge win [for me at least].

When your phone was set on silent it would silence the play back automatically. this is great if you use your phone for editing videos since you can play a song and video simultaneously to catch a vibe for the visual you shot.

I too have trouble texting but not all the time. I start typing and I can not see what I’ve entered. I can scroll to the text line but it begins to once again disappear. I can not believe the vast number of problems that’s being reported. You’d think Apple would have tested this release in Beta much longer and certainly better.

I’m in the same boat as everyone after updating to the ios17.1. I have lost an Apple text tone. I am not getting texts from some people. My partner is unable to call me intermittently by the way she had also updated to the ios17.1 her phone when calling people is silent for two minutes.

I have spoken to multiple Apple chats and the last one confirmed the update is causing the faults his remedy was to have my carrier reactivate my eSIM really helpful as I now have to take time off work. 😡. Apple why can’t you provide an update to assist.

Was told the same you cannot revert back to the previous version and feel the same way like Apple really doesn’t care about their customers anymore and as I told him I am considering selling all my Apple products and just getting a android phone instead and staying away from Apple from now on, they will be losing a lot of revenue just because of this issue that they do not want to correct if they cared about their customer satisfaction, they would do something about it and because they have not and won’t stay with them

That's up to you. I've been on iOS 17 since it was released and am having absolutely no issues at all. Just remember that every year, when the major update rolls out, some things are different from the previous version. Some people don't like all the changes and complain. I'm not one of those people. I tend to adapt and adjust to the changes pretty quickly.

Right now, you have the option to install iOS 17 or remain on iOS 16.7 and receive security updates. But that won't last too much longer and if you want the latest in security updates, you'll have to update to iOS 17.

I have the exact same problem only my problem started on iOS 16 on the 11 PRO. I have received many calls that go directly to voice mail. Even after I add them to my contacts. The option to answer calls to anyone in my contacts has been off. Apple support could not find the cause and suggested I upgrade. Well, that didn’t help either. I upgraded to the 15 PRO and release 17.0.2. The same problem exists leaving me to believe it’s either an option setting or a data problem. In either case, there’s nothing left for me to try. I’ve recently missed an important medical call. So if someone has any suggestions please bring it on. Otherwise, I’m considering dumping my iPhone no matter the cost.
