How do I invert my X and Y axis?

I'm a student and need to rotate the fallowing (and similar) graphs as follows, and I don't feel like pirating excel at the moment, how do I do this in numbers?

I want to turn this:

I'm not quite getting what you are doing but here are some ideas:

If you have a chart made already and want to swap X and Y,

  1. Click on the chart then click on the line (the series) in the chart.
  2. Go to the Format sidebar on the right and it will show you what column (or row or range) is being used for the X and Y data for that series.
  3. Click in the box for the X data.
  4. In the table, select the data you want to use for X. If it is an entire column, click on the column letter to select the entire column. Alternatively, you can type the range into the box or edit what is there.
  5. Either click the green checkmark or hit Enter to accept the selection. Don't just click off to the box or it will revert back.
  6. Repeat the last 3 steps for the Y data and Name.

That sounds like a lot but it is really only three steps if your chart has one series (change the X data, Y data, and Name).

If you have a chart all set up and formatted how you want it and you want to make more of them but with other data:

  1. Select the chart
  2. Copy
  3. Paste then arrange on the page where you want it.
  4. Change the series X and Y data and Name as detailed above.

If your chart has more than one series and they share the same X data, you only have to change X once. To avoid changing all the Y's and Names, can delete all but the first series on the new chart, change just that one, then add the other columns to the chart like you normally would. I think each series will retain any special formatting you had set up.

Yes, but the tables have to be formatted in a certain way for the assignment and if I have to remake every single table that I make in to 4 smaller tables to get the 4 graphs per table I need it will take forever to do, so just swapping the positions in the table is not an option,

So let's say I had a table like the one you just made and wanted to swap the positions on the cart of the X and Y values (without modifying the table in any way whatsoever), in a way in which if I modify the values in the (new) Y axis it would reflect in the graph instead of just changing the number on the side of it, how would I go about doing it?

Here is another, probably easier, way to create a new chart:

  1. Select the chart and the data table at the same time
  2. Copy
  3. Paste. You should get a new table and a new chart that go together. Arrange them on the sheet
  4. Put other data into the new table, overwriting the old data.

If you need two charts for your data, one normal and one with the axes swapped,

  1. Copy/paste the chart. You should get an identical chart with the same data
  2. Swap X and Y on the new chart as detailed in my prior post.
