Why cant i type on the left side of my IPad??

So everytime i flip my IPad horizontal on the left side of it it wont let me type and I know you’re gonna be like “so just flip it diagonal?...” but even if i do that it wont let me press the top of it since it would be on the left and some games wont let u flip ur device so some games i cant really play 😭😭 so apple if you know how to fix this please help out and tell me pleasee.
