iCloud videos made on iPhone 13 can’t be edited on iPad 9th generation

Since it is easier to edit videos created on my iPhone 13 on my iPad 9th generation instead of my iPhone 13, I tried to edit one on the iPad but got a message saying it can’t be edited because the video is unsupported. I read a similar complaint from 2022 and it was suggested that one should go to Camera and change the format type. I did this and it did not change anything. Unfortunately the person who asked the question in 2022, did not respond to the advice. I am having this problem now and would like to find a solution.

Hi altoannie,

If you're recording videos with HDR enabled, the 9th generation iPad doesn't have an HDR screen, so it would show this error.

You can disable HDR then try to edit the non HDR video on your iPad to confirm if this is what's causing this: Adjust HDR camera settings on iPhone - Apple Support

Thank you for your succinct suggestion but I tried it and turned off HDR in my iPhone 13 camera but the original video was still in HDR in the iPhone and in the cloud where the iPad gets it from. I decided to then make a small edit on the original and saved it as a nice file, but it was still in HDR and couldn't be edited on the iPad. I looked at Camera on the iPad and it looks like it only records its videos in HDR so I'm feeling stuck and puzzled since you stated that the iPad doesn't have an HDR screen.
