I recently updated my iMac to Sonoma and it worked great, I could see the pretty new screensaver when switching windows. 4 days after upgrading, I used the Migrate utility to set up my new MacBook from the iMac, and I now see a black screensaver on the iMac, even though I have selected the new screensaver in iMac settings.

To find out if it's system wide or user specific, try this...
Open System Settings>Users & Groups, unlock the lock, click on the little plus icon, make a new admin account, log out & into the new account.

It worked in the new "test" account, then I logged back in as my regular self, and it works fine. Thanks!
That is the 6th time I've seen just logging out, into a bew account the back, to have that cure something, must be some kind of cache involved.

Am trying this and am first being prompted to download all my photos in the default account, so can't log out right now. will advise.
