My partner and I both have 12 Pro Max iPhones. I am able to print to our HP printer, but he gets "gathering printer information", and then it goes to no printer. He can print just fine from his iPad. All three devices have been updated to iOS 17.0.2, and the printer and all devices are on the same network. Any thoughts why it's just one device?

Well, as of yesterday, I also started not being able to print from my iphone. They're all now updated to 17.0.3. So, after reading other posts, I turned off Norton VPN, shut down the iphone, turned it back on, and voila, was able print. Since it worked on mine, we did the same thing on the other iphone, and it can also now print. Still doesn't answer why initially it only affected one phone, but at least we can print from both again.

Thank you for the reply. He's been using airprint successfully from his iPhone for some time now. This is just a recent problem.
