There is/was a freeware program AM-Deadlink that would check all links in Favorites for errors; e.g., 404's. However, it doesn't work with Safari. Is there a solution for performing this function for Safari?
AM-Deadlinks searched all the links in Favorites and identified those URL's which had problems. Along with other features, it generated a report and allowed you to easily delete links that no no longer worked.
Oh my! BookMacster by Sheep System rocked my world. I am embarrassed to admit that I had around 2,700 links from my prior windows life plus my current enjoyable Mac life. I have a fast Internet connection and BookMacster verifed all my links in about 5 minutes. There is only one feature that AM-Deadlinks had that may have been slightly more user friendly.
I must admit that $23 for a fairly narrow program seems a little pricey, but the more I looked at it, the cheaper it got. It found duplicates and can sort desired folders and keep them sorted. These are not world beating functions, but my guess is I will buy it after the 3-day trial.
