Macbook desktop not working.

My desktop has erased all my folders after losing battery. When I charged it and rebooted it, all my files on the desktop were erased. Now every time I try to click on the desktop file or document file in finder, it comes up as non-existent. Not only that but when I try to create a new folder, it comes up with error -8072. Please help.

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 14.0
