Can I Applescript roop?

I would like to have an apple script for roop. I would like to have an apple script to automate select target so as I can automate the replacement of a face on many file.png pics. I have to rename each file with a new number in increments of 1. I am getting old and this is getting to difficult for me. So many changes to the simple things. I have 1000's of pics, & although I can replace the face on about 1000 per day I would like to automate the job. Okay maybe to do 50 odd at a time. The more control the better. Can anyone help me please?
