saved files are not showing up in icloud document folder, MacBook Air 13", Sonoma 14.0

Macbook Air M2, 13", Recently updated to Sonoma 14.0, now, when I download any files, PDF, or otherwise, into the iCloud documents folder, so it can be shared across devices, the recently downloaded file, does not show up in the folder, if I log into the same iCloud documents folder from another device, it's right there. I've tried disconnecting and reconnecting the iCloud, restarting the computer, and clearing all of the cache from Google Chrome/. This happens across all browsers, and seems to only affect this device with the new updated OS. Any ideas?
