I can SignIn with Apple ID on the website, but not on my Mac, why ?

I have an Apple ID that is activated. I can sign in with the credentials on the website of Apple, BUT, when I use them to sign in on my Mac, I set them and then nothing happens. As if I'm not signed In, no pop up messages of errors or success, neither the form is redirecting somewhere else... It just displays again the same form again in order to sign in again. I can't use my email app, can't use Apple store, can't use anything ...

Please help us help you. Macs have been aound since 1984, so what "Mac"--model and sub-model--and what macOS version is it running? Both are quickly available from "About this Mac..." in your Apple menu:

Also were both devices set up with the same Apple ID?

I have exactly the same issue. I enter my apple ID, it asks for a verification code, I enter it and then back to the start window as if nothing had happened. I see the macbook air connected to the account on my phone, but on the mac it is as if I have never entered the password.
