Is it the iPhone 15 Pro or iOS 17.0.2?

Is it the iPhone 15 Pro or iOS 17.0.2 that is causing the phone to lock up. It's happened when using the weather app ... nothing I pressed would work, the phone was just locked up and I could not leave the app. I needed to turn the phone off and on. This has happened multiple times and it's happened on other apps as well. I've also been going from email to email only to have a blank screen show up and needed to move back to previous email to continue. Completely shutting down does not help.

Is it the iPhone 15 Pro or iOS 17.0.2 that is causing this behavior?

Hi DINYUCD,

Thanks for posting in Apple Support Communities.

It may be the iOS installation, but if it's just a few apps that are having this issue, please follow the steps in this article: If an app on your iPhone or iPad stops responding, closes unexpectedly, or won’t open - Apple Support.

These are the built-in apps that can be removed: Delete built-in Apple apps from the Home Screen on your iOS 14 or later or iPadOS device or Apple Watch - Apple Support

If it's more than just a few, we recommend reinstalling iOS.

Before you begin, please be sure to secure a fresh backup: How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch - Apple Support

Once you have a backup, please follow the steps in this article to place your iPhone in recovery mode and update it again that way: If you can't update or restore your iPhone or iPod touch - Apple Support

When you're presented with options, please choose "Update" and not "Restore". Once the process has completed, see if the issue has been resolved.

If you make a mistake and choose "Restore", don't worry. You can simply restore the backup you just created to your iPhone: Restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch from a backup - Apple Support

Regards.
