There are two types of ways you can add someone else to your Apple Card.
You can add co-owners to your card, who will share full responsibility for the account balance and all payments. They'll build credit along with you.
You can add participants to your card, who are not responsible for payments and can opt-in to build their credit.

Just so there is no confusion, Apple calls Authorized Users, Participants. Please review the support article linked below on the steps for adding a Participant.
Here are a couple of issues that can trip up quickly adding a Participant. All devices must be updated to the latest iOS before even inviting someone to be a Participant. Turn off any VPN and/or university security systems. Participant must be physically in the US to accept the invitation. Participant must have accurate age set for their Apple ID account. Lastly the Particpant should have already setup their Apple Cash account and verified the account.

Does this give full Apple ID family sharing access too? Or just the card? My husband is trying to add me as an authorized user or participant to use his Apple CC but we don’t want to combine Apple IDs and share payment methods for purchases etc. because I often purchase things with my children’s disability account for their learning needs etc. and we can’t combine that! My husband cannot have access to that for legal reasons. If we cannot keep that separate then we may not be able to add me.
Do you and your husband each have your own individual Apple Card MasterCard accounts?
