Compressor sits in WAITING with 0:00 time elapses after trying to export.... Have to restart computer to start working again.

We all know Apple is starting to care less and less for people who use FCP professionally. Their updates are weak and dated. ANYWAYS:

Anyone else experience Compressor to NOT export any videos? Mine just sits in Progress: WAITING with no time elapsed. The only solution I have found is to RESTART my whole computer. After a couple hours of not using Compressor, it will stop working and I have to restart again. Anyone know the solution to this issue? I've tried restarting FCP and Compressor, unmount / remount hard drives, clear cache. NOTHING.

Any help would be appreciated.

I've seen this before. I've always fixed it with the following.

Go to Settings > Advanced > Reset Queue, actually twice.

The first time run "Cancel jobs."

The second time run "Repair Compressor."

And as Luis said, could be something else installed that is interfering.

I have resolved this issue by deleting all Projects and all Project Backups in Final Cut Pro. I went over to Compressor and clicked on Settings>Advanced>REPAIR COMPRESSOR, and that did the trick. I went and then reloaded the current project I was working on in FCP, and sent it over to Compressor and it functioned as expected by exporting the video to the correct format in the correct source with zero glitches. In fact, it worked better than usual.

Peace and Love to all.

We don't have much to work on. This is the first I have heard of this.

Please run Etrecheck and post its full report here. Use the "additional text" button and paste the report into the text box.

By looking at the report we may find something. Do you have an antivirus, perhaps? Or some third party software that is blocking the videotoolbox, as er... chrome is well known to do?
