MacBook with M2 terminal keeps saying To update your account to use zsh, please run `chsh -s /bin/zsh`.
I tried to upload software for SanDisk portable SSD and terminal box came up with this message.

Terminal is letting you know zsh has superseded bash as macOS's default shell. To use zsh instead, enter that command.
At the Terminal prompt, type
chsh -s /bin/zsh
... and you're done.
The reason the SanDisk portable SSD is asking you to upload software to it is another story altogether. I doubt it's required and it might cause trouble.
You don't need to install any software just to use an external drive. Read Connect and use other storage devices with Mac - Apple Support. But the Terminal reminder to swich to zsh is perfectly normal and ok and expected.
