Weekly Summary

With this new update, it seems that the weekly step count is gone!! Am I missing something? I see every other thing that the “rings” track, but not steps. Why would they keep stand and eliminate steps?! I am hoping there is just some trick, and that it’s not that someone literally decided to remove it! Help!

Hi there terryfromsalt lake city,

In watchOS 10, you'll want to follow the guidance below to view your steps:

On your Apple Watch
1. Open the Activity app on your Apple Watch.
2. Tap  in the upper-left to see your weekly summary, or you can swipe up to see details for each ring.
3. Swipe up again to see more, like your total steps, your distance, and workouts.

You'll find this information here: Use the Activity app on your Apple Watch - Apple Support

Take care.

Hey there terryfromsalt,

While we aren't able to speak to third-party forums/websites, we certainly want to help however we can.

We understand that you're now able to view your stand activity using the steps sent in the earlier message, which we can now say one of your two issues is resolved. Moving forward with troubleshooting not seeing your steps activity, we'd like to learn more about what's happening, along with continuing to rule out some possible causes:

  1. You mentioned that you used the same steps to check your standing activity since before watchOS 10 was updated, but what shows in its place when you try? The more details you provide, the better we'll understand what's occurring.
  2. Sometimes unexpected behavior can be resolved with a restart: Restart your iPhone and Restart Apple Watch
  3. If you're paired with a compatible iPhone model, the latest version is iOS 17.0.3. You can verify this within Settings > General > About. In case you needed it, this link shows how to first back up, then update: Update your iPhone or iPad While you did mention updating your watch recently, the latest version is watchOS 10.0.1. and 10.0.2 for Apple Watch Series 9/Apple Watch Ultra 2 models. You can verify this within Settings > General > About. In case you needed it, this link shows how to update: Update your Apple Watch

Cheers!

I just called Apple sSupport tonight and got a call back to voice my complaint about the weekly distance update no longer keeping the calculation. Everyone please keep calling and complaining about this. Did you notice the apps they want us to purchase to replace the weekly distance? Just bring the weekly distance back! Let's hope they listen to us!! Please call!!!

There are no third party apps. It’s the activity app on my watch. I listed above what shows. It’s missing the steps for the weekly summary. There are other people complaining about it online too! Restarting my phone doesn’t fix a programming problem from Apple! If you think it SHOULD show the steps, I would love to see a screen shot of where it DOES show! Show me!
