How would I update my device to iOS 17 and I’m on an iPhone 6s and my current operating system is iOS 15.7.9

Your 8 year old phone cannot be updated higher than it is already. It’s hardware cannot run newer versions.

If you want a device which can run the newest iOS 17, then you need to buy a much newer, more modern iPhone.
