Where to place a GROWing Active Folder?

Using Stable Diffusion Webui from my Desktop. Its folder is now 101 GB and grows from addding Generative Models and new AI images. My Question: is the Desktop any different in terms of performance impact versus using Documents folder versus an External SSD?

Thanks in advance for any incite on the above usage.

Prior to 2001 it was. But no more. The real difficulty is if you use iCloud to synchronize your Mac OS files, or if you are simultaneously backing up with Time Machine. Both take a lot of background system resources in terms of duplication. If either is functioning on the same folder at the same time, you could see slow down.

I'm not familiar with the software you talk about. I would contact the vendor to see if they know of any bugs.
