After update to Sonoma, I cannot open some excel files saved in iCloud!

After updating OS to Sonoma, I wasn't able to open some excel files saved in iCloud for some reason. I get this message saying "Sorry, we couldn't find (file name here). Is it possible it was moved, renamed or deleted?" even though files have been in the same location all along. I tried to move the files off iCloud but it takes forever to do so with the message saying "preparing to move to (location name)" and cannot be moved anywhere else. This is really strange. All the other files are fine after downloading them again.

"I tried to move the files off iCloud"

How were you trying to do this? We have five Macs all using iCloud. To copy any file from the iCloud Drive folder to the desktop, an external drive, mail attachment and etc. is very quick. If the file is large, it takes a little longer, but the copy process is always very fast. For instance, to copy a 4.1GB file to the desktop just now was essentially instantaneous.

The file is mere 32kb so it's not heavy at all. It's taking over night and still has not been moved. It seems like my desktop is part of iCloud because when I downloaded the same file on desktop from my email, I got the same message and couldn't open it, but when I downloaded it to "downloads" folder, I was able to open it. Anyway, the original file that was on iCloud cannot be opened or moved, so I had to create totally new file. The funny thing is when I moved this new file onto the same folder in iCloud, I get the same message and can't open it any longer..... so strange.....
