I cannot believe we are still waiting for a fix on this, nearly 8 weeks after the release of Sonoma.
It makes me wonder just how much testing goes into new releases.
I am so close to reverting back to Ventura
I found out that it wasn't working because my Mac Mini forgot the "VNC viewers may control screen with password" setting on update.
I'm having the same issue. Tried calling apple support but they were unable to fix it as well. They think it's a software problem in MacOS Sonoma and hope it will be fixed in future updates.
It did fix it for me.
I found this post on Reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/MacOS/comments/17exzyl/comment/k6j6khb/
After macOS Sonoma update my screen sharing has stopped working
The 14.1 update resolved this issue.
@Banuschka
Are you connecting on an internal network or across an external network
Across an external network (the internet) using Sonoma 14.1.1 on sending and receiving Macs.
me too
Agreed.
It became that bad for me when trying to screen share with a friend, we have had to abandon Safari, go over to Chrome and use Google Remote desktop which is free and works flawlessly.
Since upgrading to Sonoma I can't seem to screen share from my MAC to my LGTV. Any ideas?
I'm using Sonoma 14.2. I also can't share screen through FaceTime (M2 Mac mini). Has anyone figured out a way to solve this problem?
Same thing happened to me
had to format my MacBook pro
im testing stuff out
I went in to the mac store and was told to restore everything manually
