before this happened I linked the laptop to my iPhone and iPad. Please 🙏 help
Apple and OWC/Macsales.com sell truly refurbished Macs, and they come with warranties.
If your Mac started up asking for a password, it was used and not setup properly for resale. Take it back to the seller and get a refund of have him do this: What to do before you sell, give away, trade in, or recycle your Mac - Apple Support
