I’d like to print a recipe from Cook’s Illustrated. How do I do that? If not available, can Apple add that feature?

You can attempt to open a news story in Safari on the ‌iPhone‌ or iPad by tapping the three dot icon in the corner, choosing copy link, and pasting it into Safari. From Safari, you can tap on the share sheet button (square with an arrow) and then choose the "Print" option.

The “Reader” functionality in Safari (desktop: Command-Shift-R, or the View menu) can get you a less cluttered text-only version.

If not available, can Apple add that feature?

Welcome!

Some questions about your question:

  • Are you trying to print from Apple News+, or the CI web site?
  • Do you get any error messages when trying to print the recipes?
  • Have you been able to print them before?
  • Is this with the iPhone shown in your equipment line, or another Apple device? If the latter, what device and what macOS version is it running?

My wife says she had no issues in the past printing from the CI web site in a browser, but the "Print recipe" button was not obvious.

It is possible that digital rights management (DRM) agreements between Apple and companies participating in Apple News+ may limit or exclude printing directly from Apple News. I am traveling without printer access so cannot test. As we are not Apple but other end users, we are not privy to Apple's business relation agreements.
