How to reset 4 digit passcode on i phone, whne the phone is locked out,

Follow the instructions in the Apple Support document above your name. Then....you can set up a new passcode once the phone is back up and running.
Settings > Face ID & Passcode > Turn Passcode On
When you set up the new passcode again, tap Passcode Options to display the option to set up a 4 digit code.
