How do I download an album purchased from the iTunes Store on Apple Music as .m4a instead of .movpkg?

I just got two albums on the iTunes Store on the Apple Music desktop app (using Mac running Sonoma) and added them to my library and downloaded them to my Mac to transfer them onto my iPod classic. But I noticed they download as .movpkg files instead of .m4a's and thus are not compatible. But other albums I bought from the iTunes Store have not done this in the past. Any ideas if I can do anything about this?
