My new phone says it is not updated to iOS 17 so it can’t use the cloud to update what do I do

my new phone says there is no way to update it and when I try to just transfer my information from my old phone it begins an unknown update and say it loads in the instal now button

We'd recommend updating your new iPhone first. Set it up, you can sign into your Apple ID if you like or skip it, as you'll be erasing the phone again after this.


After setting up the new iPhone, try to update it as normal, the latest version at the moment is iOS 17.0.3.


After updating your new iPhone, erase it and then try transferring your data from your old phone again.


Let us know what happens if you still cannot get your new iPhone updated and data transferred after those steps.
