create an email account

I have a MacBook Air with OS 10.10, suddenly the email accounts stop working and nowadays i can not create any kind of email account, not even the iCloud one.

i do not have this issue on any other apple device but in the MacBook Air, so i assume it may be related to the OS.

Anyhow i would appreciate your support.

thanks

In order to help you, we need more specifics to evaluate. When and how did this issue begin? Was it after installing a new OS? What happens when you try to create a new email account. Is the account a valid one that has been created with an email service provider? Did you have an account with them before?

I can not recall excactly when start happening but it could be with an update of the OS. The point is that the accounts that i already had, i.e iCloud, email that we’re working perfectly stop working, so i delete all of them and now when tying to add them again it does not allow me to create them.

For the iCloud one i am asked for a 6 digits confirmation code, sent to my iPad and when i type the code it is said that it is wrong.

For the gmail one, i am told that it is an authorization error “error 400: invalid request” and that apple mail does not fulfill OAuth 2.0 requirements.

as summary i am simply trying to recover my old emails accounts in my Mac, but it seems that something changed and they are not working.

Per Mactracker, the first MBA to use MacOS 10.10 was a 2015 Model. Obviously that's just a guess, but if your Mac is 2015 you should upgrade to Monterey macOS 12 assuming it's eligible.

Regardless of my guess at your Mac's model year, it should be upgraded to the latest version of macOS it can take. This will bring a boatload of bug fixes and security updates.
