"Unsupported file format" on MacBook to AirPlay

Hi there,

when sharing to AirPlay app on Smart TV I cannot play any videos in any format from my MacBook. On iPhone, sharing is not a problem, can share the same files from iCloud or the phone's storage.

I connected both devices to a Smart TV with a password from the TV's screen.

Tried sharing to AirPlay in mov's, works flawlessly on iPhone, but doesn't when sharing from a MacBook.

Both devices are in the same network.

Cannot share files from MacBook from iCloud or its storage.

Both devices updated to the newest versions of os.

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 13.3

Our Samsung smart TV will play only certain formats directly. To play a non recognized format, I have to use a converter app. I forget which one I used, but there are many available.

However, when played via AirPlay, the TV will play the "non recognized" file as it's the Mac that's actually playing it. All the TV does is display what is sent.
