If you see No Service, Searching, or SOS on your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support
Commonality is not causation, and others with the same model phone running the same version of iOS are not experiencing your issue.
If you work directly with Apple Support you can send your device in but then you may be without it for a week or two.
Contact - Official Apple Support

… including contacting your cellular carrier as well as Apple Support as the article linked by razmee209 suggests?
They suggested I drive 150 miles to an Apple store to get a new phone with a mindset that would fix the issue. When we all know it’s not my phone because the problem happened immediately after the update.
Then your carrier is working the issue, albeit slowly.
Do they have a local office you could visit instead?
Yes, they said it was a hardware issue and are sending me a new phone. That wS a week ago. Resetting network settings temporarily fixes it. Still no phone and I asked them today. They haven’t even sent it yet, but charged my credit card.
Yah, tried that, they’re clueless

So you contacted both your carrier and Apple Support?
Reset phone, tried everything. Update has a bug on either ATT or Apple. Either way, update is a mess
Of course
That’s a great resolution
