Why can't I download iCloud Drive files to my iPad when connected to a personal hotspot?
For a long time now I have been unable to download iCloud Drive files in the Files app when I am connected to my iPhone's Personal Hotspot.
I am using an iPad Pro 12.9" (5th gen) running iPadOS 16.6.1 and an iPhone XR running iOS 16.6.1
- There is no problem with the internet connection - I can browse the web, download emails, etc. without issue on both devices.
- I have no trouble downloading files on the iPhone itself, even when connected to cellular data.
- I have no trouble accessing iCloud Drive on the iPad when connected to other wifi networks.
But when I connect my iPad to the iPhone's hotspot, even tiny (10kB) files will not download. No matter what I try, the circle keeps spinning and the file never downloads. I've tried connecting to different personal hotspots with different cellular providers - nothing seems to fix it. To get around it I've been downloading files to my iPhone, AirDropping them to my iPad, and saving files locally, but then my files are not updates across devices.
I would really appreciate any help.
