My mail icon is gone from my MacBook Air

There is not a mail icon on my new MacBook air

Did you check the program folder, if the Mail app has been installed?

If yes, click on it to open Mail and the Mail app will be shown in the Dock. Right click on it while the program is still active and choose "keep in Dock" from the option menu.
