Why won't the 5G WiFi work when the 4.2 does?

My router has 4.2G & 5G WiFi. Every device attaches to both of these (1 iPad, 2 Androids, 2 Windows PC's). My MacBook Pro USED to connect to both, but now it will only connect to the 4.2G. I get a "password error" on the 5G.

It USED to work - until I did the last update (High Sierra 10.13.6)

The same password works on every other device. Except the Mac.

The 2 WiFi's are set up the same as  WPA2-PSK [AES].

I ran the diagnostics, and it said that there was a conflicting country code.

The time & date are United States. The Apple Store is United States. The Modem is set to United States. And, it works on the 4.2G. So I don't know how that could be the problem.

BUT:

This is what the network report returned. It says: The nearby networks conflict with your current country code (X0) (It would certainly help if this could be copied and pasted...

All the modems are US as expected.

How do I fix this, and why is it ONLY the 5G on 1 device out of 6

Help!

How is that even possible?

You router has 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands ... "5G" typically refers to a cellular protocol.

I suggest you restart your router ... pull the power plug, wait 30 seconds, replace the power cable and retry.

You may need a new router, The do wear out and just recently I replace a router to which my wires iPad Mini would not stay connected. 10 other devices had no problem. Coincidence? No idea, I don't argue with success.

You should contact your router's maker and get their tech assistance if the above restart fails and you don't want to buy a new router.
