Thread Reboot: Crucial P5 Plus 2TB w/Macbook Air 2015 using NGFF adapter from Sintech.

I made the bold assumption that adapter meant universal and bought an NGFF-NVMe adapter for my girlfriend's Macbook Air. When connected, the drive is not detected. Macbook was on Monterey prior to the drive's replacement. Haven't had a chance to validate the drive's efficacy with another system as the only other one I could do so with is my PC which has no available M.2 slots currently.

Does anyone have any experience with these drives working with Macbooks? I saw one that did work but had kernel panic issues which are expected from what I've read.

My experience with a 2016 MacBook Pro, and three iMacs and one 2020 MBP, is that Macs are just picky when it comes to adapters, docks, hubs and the like.

I replaced the 256GB Apple proprietary 2016 SSD with one from a vendor often recommended by this community. It sort of work giving enough errors that I went back to the OEM SSD and added external SSD data storage.
