I have been getting this message in Safari for the past few weeks. 2121 IMAC running Somona 14.0. It clears after a restart. Already turned off malware program. Does not help.

iMac 24″, macOS 14.0

Hello Scotmac11,

We see you have a specific error when trying to use Safari on your Mac. Besides the steps you've already taken, we'd recommend clearing your browsing history: Clear your browsing history in Safari on Mac

Also, narrow down if you get that error from a specific website. That might help provide a clue as to the underlying cause.

We look forward to hearing how these steps do for you.

Take care.

This issue is specific to Safari, but not to a specific website, nor to a specific OS. The issue started for me last week as I updated my 2017 iMac to 13.6.5.

It starts after a number of tabs (sometimes as little as 5 or 6, but that varies too) are opened. Closing tabs or restarting Safari only solves the issue temporarily.

It is an issue that is referenced as early as 2020, with macOS 12. In other words, no need to wait for an update/upgrade to solve the problem and the many threads that exist on the topic do not provide any lasting solution.

I have submitted a bug report, but I'm not holding my breath...
