Iphone 15 pro disconnecting headphones

I have an Iphone 15 Pro. Using USB-C wired earphones/microphone. They work fine -- EXCEPT -- everytime the iphone goes to 'sleep' the earphones won't work. I have to wake up the phone and then disconnect/re-connect the headphones. Sooooo frustrating. I work from home part time and so my Iphone is my work phone. Both my 14 and X did not have this problem. Is there some new setting that I need to adjust?

My iPhone 7+ keeps disconnecting from wired earphones and lightening adaptor My iPhone 7+ recently started to disconnect from both wires earbuds and adaptor. It does this usually when I open another app or lock my phone. I know that the earbuds and adaptor both work. My phone also has no problem charging. I’ve shut my phone on and off which fixes it for a little bit and it’s also updated to date. Is there anyway to fix this? Or do you think the charging/plug hole needs to be replaced?
