When trying to start Apple Hardware Test on early 2013 MacBook Pro OS 10.15.7 the spinning world icon stops spinning & has an exclamation point on it. It goes no further.

That icon means the computer is trying to connect to an Apple server bearing the test and cannot. If for troubleshooting, I recommend a wired internet connection.

Thanks Allen, I read that somewhere else also. Unfortunately, I guess I need to buy an adapter to do a wired connection.
diagnostics are usually invoked when you are having issues. The rest of the time we tend to ignore them.
