Snoopy watch face killing battery time. anyone else find this?

I love the new Snoopy watch face but it is draining my battery so much that it won’t even make it through a whole day.

Has anyone else noticed this and have any ideas?

I really want to use this watch face but will not be able to if I have to change my battery more than once a day

Apple Watch Series 7, watchOS 10

To be clear, it's not the battery, though I'm sure we all wish it was better, but it's the new (super awesome otherwise) Snoopy watch face that's killing the battery prematurely. My watch usually can make it through about a day and half on a non-Snoopy watch face. With Snoopy on it can't make it through the day. If I charge my watch in around 8am it's dead by dawn (💀), meaning when I wake up my watch is dead.

I had to finally give up and switch back to a boring face and now I'm back to getting a day and half. I think the animations play more easily when my wrist moves around. Meaning it's getting false positives that I'm actually looking at my watch so it goes into animation/live view mode. That's just a guess though as I'm not actually looking at my watch to know (see the paradox there 😉).

Thanks for reaching out BobNigel,

It sounds like you're having some trouble with your Apple Watch battery life. We can help.

A good place to start is with these steps to improve Apple Watch Battery and Performance. If you still have battery issues after that, you can connect with Apple directly using either Get Support or if you're in a region without direct support options, you can also Contact Apple for support and service.

Hope that helps.

Take care.

Hi -

Thank you both for your responses. I’m not quite sure what changed, but I am no longer experiencing the issue. Most of the time now it is Snoopy asleep with a black background. I added the widget for the watch battery on my iPhone so now I can keep an eye on it. All I can think is that I was playing with it too much that first day. This just occurred to me, could it also be because I was on vacation and did not have access to WiFi?

The only thing that might eventually make me change back to my previous watch face is that you cannot add Complications.

Thanks again,

Bob

I’ve had real luck after that first few days. I think I was just looking at it a lot more in the beginning to see what he would do next. Also, he seems to be returning to the sleeping image a lot sooner. I’ve only had one day since then that the battery drained quicker than usual, but I was working on the outside of my house so my arm was ‘up’ a lot more that usual

haha, that could be it, if you´re moving your arm around a lot more but I don´t think I am. I sit at a computer all day. I look at the time a few times an hour - would that really make a difference to the battery? It´s no different from how I used to act working with a "boring" watch face. I wonder if I should be on Low Power Mode although I need to look into how that might affect receiving notifications etc. Maybe there are other settings that need adjusting just so Snoopy can stay with me for a longer battery duration than less than one day .... hmm
