Recording monitoring issue?

I'm having an issue where I'm recording and it sounds like there's 2 voices. One of them is fine but the other is slightly delayed so it's very off-putting when recording vocals. It does't happen when I just hit play, it only happens when I hit record. I monitor through my UAD Apollo Twin X, I've been recording for three years and I've never had this issue. I don't think it's anything to do with UAD, because I can hear myself fine before I hit record.

Any ideas?

I have a similar problem with Logic pro for IPad. I use a RME Babyface pro as an audio interface which has served me well with no problems when using Auria Pro and Cubasis. In Logic Pro for iPad there is a software monitoring toggle button (I) which turns on the monitoring. I prefer to have this off and simply pass through my audio direct to the output which the RME device supports. The problem I’m having is that the record enable button also turns on software monitoring which defeats the whole object of having an independant on/off toggle button for monitoring if the record button overrides it. I too get what appears to be a slight delay. This is because I have two signals passing through the system. One goes direct to the output without delay and the other passes through the effects chain with a slight delay. Temporarily until I find a fix I turn down the channel strip volume knob while recording then turn it back up to hear the recorded track. Certainly on the iPad Logic Pro version it seems like Apple have a bug as I’m sure the record enable shouldn’t override the separate software monitor button. Trevor
