Works fine when I can use cellular on my iPhone. There is no cell service where I live so I depend on wifi. Just got a new service provider and new router. Everything but location services works fine. Is it more likely the service or router? Any suggestions? Also have ipad with same situation.

Location Services possibly doesn’t know the location of your new router. Wi-Fi networks supplement the GPS satellite signals, which can only be received outdoors with a clear view of the sky. I don’t know if this will work, but you can try “training” Apple’s Wi-Fi location database. Go outside with a clear view of the sky, but close enough to your router so it can be detected, and open Find My. You should see your location on the map; leave it up for a couple of minutes, and see if it still knows the location when you go inside.
As this is only theoretical and I’ve never tried this myself, please report back with success or failure.

And Maps and Weather will use the Wi-Fi router location when you are inside. Do Maps and Weather work outside?
Find my knows where both devices are. I didn’t have to go outside. But maps and weather can’t find me.
No. No difference. But there’s no cell service within a couple miles.
Tried again and it worked!
Hard to find clear view of the sky on a northwest facing slope in the woods. Do you think I will have to do that again. Did not have this problem before (many years)
