Marine Aquarium on Sonoma
Guys,
Has anyone else had a problem with Marine Aquarium 3.3b1 by Serene Screen working as a screen saver on MacOS 14, Sonoma?
Is there a fix? It works as a stand alone only.
Regards, Phil

(January 14 2024) I uninstalled with AppCleaner. I emptied the trash and did a reboot. I reinstalled the same 3.2 application (I can't find another Mac version on the Net). I opened this installation from the applications folder. I re-entered my code. Then I chose the application in the finder preferences as screensaver. I relaunched from the finder prefs and it seems to work without the previous freezes and jerks. I'm on a Sonoma 14.2.1.
Happy New Year !

Start Marine Aquarium outside System Settings (typically in the Applications folder). Select the REGISTER tab and enter your key code. Even though it says you registered previously, refiling it jars Sonoma's pea-brain to recognize it as a screensaver. Then go back to System Settings/Screensaver and build your fish library again. This was the developer's recommendation a couple of MacOS versions ago when I had a problem and it worked for me - hope it works for you! 🤞
I was having a problem too. I couldn't even find Marine Aquarium in the ScreenSaver options. But then I noticed you can select seeing all the options in each category. When I hit that option in the last category, "Other" Marine Aquarium is the last one listed (see screencap below). All i had to do at that point was click on it and it's working fine now.
That hasn't been updated in years. You might try contacting the developer if they are still around.
Mine is working. I did have to install the registration key again but I had to do that on Ventura as well.
I agree with you.
Sonoma creates a 'jerky' fish movement.
The developer doesn't answer.
He has a forum that he's considering disbanding.
There have been no updates other than removing Sonoma and downloading Ventura
Don't download Sonoma; stay with Ventura.
That was my downfall.
The developer is not addressing the problem.
He hardly ever responds to comments which haven't been updated for years.
Aquarium is a jerky fish movement under Sonoma.

I turned off bubbles, clock, sound and have only 2 fishes...first launch o.k.... exit screensaver...launch again "active corner" and it stutters... same behavior on Mac mini M1 & M2 16G memory running 14.1.1
v.3.3b1 on an iMac
Thank you, thank you, thank you. I love this screen saver and after downloading the 3.3b1 it now works on my MBA on Sonoma.
where did you find the 3.3b1 version... I was only able to find the original 3.2 on the developers site?
and for me this is running smooth only the first time it is activated. the second time it is "very" slow ... you can see the fish "jump" around
Guy,
Thanks, but it won't allow me to re-register. It just thanks me for registering previously. How did you re-register?
I'm using v.3.3b1 on an iMac.
Thanks, Phil
Well, thanks, kj. I didn't know it was that easy. You've solved the problem.
Phil
I'm actually using 3.2.1. It's fairly smooth with the bubbles turned off.
I have a 2019 iMac, not jerky for me. Here are the 3.3 install comes if you want to try it.
