Unable to access email from Xfinity. Requested password be entered into mail account settings. I was unable to find this.

Xfinity mail will not send mail thru Apple Mail app. Mail stays in outbox and keeps asking for Comcast mail password Mac OS is Catalina. Apple mail is not affected on IOS devices using same Comcast mail ID's.

Unable to Access Comcast/Xfinity Email after Password Change I have been unable to access Comcast/Xfinity email after a forced password change for 1 of my several Comcast email accounts. The "official" response about this issue that several Outlook and Apple Mail customers are having is, of course that it's not a Comcast/Xfinity problem, that the problem lies solely with the 3rd Party Email application. I have of course made efforts to change the password in the appropriate places in Apple Mail, yet I still get error messages like "Connections to the server “smtp.comcast.net” on the default ports timed out." I'm curious if Apple has had many calls about this issue and whether anything is or will be done to resolve yet another mess that Comcast/Xfinity has made. Is anyone else having this issue after being forced to change their password? Although this link was initiated by an Outlook user, other Apple users have come forward. Check Settings > Mail > Accounts > [your Xfinity account] > Account …

There is at least one place (possibly more) further down that path where you may enter your email password.
